The Most Haunted Road

A few years ago I was with my girlfriend and we were drving down Five bridges road. It has a history of being the most haunted area in Hertford, NC.

We had a convertable and the roof was off. As we drove it got freakishly cold. Even though we had wind coming at us it was a different kind of cold which made us have to pull over. I was driving and when I get really cold my joints freeze up so we had to stop and my girlfriend couldn't drive back then.

So we got out and started walking around the car just talking and wondering how it got so cold. As I faced away from my girlfriend and the car she screamed bloody murder and ran over to me. As I turned around her face turned to a confused but still frightened look. She was looking at the car and I asked her what happened.

She said as she turned to look at the car car there was someone sitting in the drivers seat with the back of their head missing and when she ran to me they were gone.

A few seconds after she told me that the bushes by the car started moving around a if someone was making their way through them. It got super cold again and we started hearing echoing noises thats sounded like faint child like screams.

We got into the car faster than ever and began to drive off. Half way down the street someone came out from the bushes and stood in front of our car and I slammd the brakes down so fast both myself and my girlfriends head slammed down as well for at least 10 seconds, When we looked up again they were gone.

Neither one of us has ever been near that area again since.
