Mother In Law Angel Request

This story is true and whether you believe in Angels is up to you. All I know is that something happened to me and my family, and it was a blessing.

First let me explain that I travel a lot for business. Because of this I decided to create an account on yahoo that only I knew about, me and me alone. I used this account to meet with people while I was on the road and had kept it a secret from my wife. I have been with my wife for almost 8 years now and love her very much; however I was troubled and just could not understand how I could keep this secret from her, knowing that someday she might find out and be tremendously hurt.

My mother-in-law, whom I was real close too, passed away on Friday the 13th in March of 09. The days after her passing were tough on all of us and her funeral, which was on Monday, was very trying and brought all of her family together. Tuesday I was to go back on the road and questioned whether I should go or not. After discussing this with my wife we decided I should go ahead and go. Problem is that as I boarded the plane I wondered what my mother-in-law would think of what I had been doing while on the road, in my mind I had disappointed her and my secret was now known to her. After the plane landed in Chicago I headed for spot so I could check my email on my PC. As I sat there a man approached and asked if I had cell phone service. He stated that he was from out of town and that he needed to contact his service provider to see why his cell phone did not work. I dialed the number he told me on my phone and then handed it to him. He talked for around 15 minutes and in the end told me that the service representative told him he would not have service while in Chicago. I didn’t really think much of it at the time so I proceeded to board my plane for New York.

I landed in New York and begin to drive to my destination. Little did I know that I was about to receive a phone call from my wife that would change my life. My wife called and began to question what I did while I was on the road. She said that she had received two separate calls to her cell phone, both with the caller id blocked, and both telling her to check a certain account on yahoo. This account was my secret one, and my wife was able to guess my password so she logged in. My secret was out, and she was reading to me some of my emails I had received and sent. She was very shaken up and crying, I had hurt her. Not only was she grieving from the loss of her mother, she was now hurting because of my unselfish acts. I am still not sure this day how I could have done this to her.

For the first few days in New York I tried to figure out how exactly someone could have possibly gotten my wife’s cell phone number and also figure out my secret yahoo account. And then was somehow able to put them together, all the time knowing that my yahoo id was very anonymous and did not provide much detail as to my location or name. I was totally stumped, and I thought about who could have possibly gotten my wife’s number as only family knows it along with her entry in my cell phone. It then occurred to me, the stranger I met in Chicago, I had given him access to my phone. But how did he know about my yahoo id, I still do not know the answer to this.

The only answer I came up with was the conclusion that my mother-in-law had made this happen; she summoned an angel to meet me in Chicago. My mother-in-law knew that what I was doing was wrong and that her daughter deserved better, and that her daughter loves me very much. She also knows that I do love her daughter, and that I just needed some help to steer me down the correct path again. I ask for forgiveness of from my wife, I truly believe this has brought us closer together now.

As I think about what happened in Chicago that day I say a thank you to my mother-in-law everyday, as well as our Lord. They do really look out for us and sometime intervene when needed. We just have to read the signs. The decision they cannot make for us, but they can show us the way. They say that angels walk among us, and that they may appear as ordinary people. I truly believe in this, more than ever now.

I know that my writing is not the best; however I just needed to put my thoughts into words.
