I'm not sure whether this would go under A Near Death Experience or An Out Of Body Experience category.
I was 7 and was being rushed to the hospital. I had been attacked by a dog. My head was ripped open and there was blood everywhere. I was losing blood fast and it was all I could see. I remember being on a cold metal table with doctors and needles hovering around me. My eyes closed and I could feel myself losing my ties to both gravity and sanity as I drifted away. Everything became slow motion. And I could hear everyones voices yelling slowly and quietly. They sounded so far away. I felt like I was floating. A feeling a weightlessness and of being high. The pain was gone and I remember something in the back of my mind frantically trying to tell me that something was horribly, horribly wrong, but I couldn't pay attention long enough to care. I just...drifted. And I felt relaxed. I remember staring down at myself and the doctors that loomed over me. Like I was someone else floating above. And nothing went through my mind, there was no feeling then, I just stared down at myself and everything had gone silent.
Then everything went hazy and black and my eyes opened and I was back on the cold table screaming.
I'm fine now. I had stayed in the hospital for 5 weeks hooked up to an IV and my scars have long since faded away. I don't remember much of the five weeks that I was there, but that one incident on that cold metal table will haunt me forever.
