Out of Body Experience of a 5 Year Old

I had several OOBE's as a child. I recall clearly, when I was five years old, walking outside around the corner of my school building on the way to the restroom. It was lunch or recess and many children were outside playing. Suddenly my eyes seemed to "black out" like a filmstrip reaching it's end. I was suddenly watching myself from about 30 feet away, hovering above a field. I could see myself walking and the many children on the playground. Just as suddenly, I was back in my body, with eyesight regained, rubbing my eyes and wondering what had happened to my vision. I remember some feeling of confusion, but no fear.

A few years later I believe I had several OOBE's at nighttime, leaving my body while I slept. I would suddenly be outside of my house in the front yard or in the back seat of our car parked on the street. At first I wondered how I got there and how would I get back in the house, how would I explain to my parents why I was outside in the middle of the night. It came to me, or I remembered that all I had to do was close my eyes and I would be back inside. So it was, and I would be standing at the foot of my bed viewing myself sleeping before I returned to my body.

An explanation of these events? I believe these experiences gave me the insight at a young age to realize that our soul is seperate from our bodies, and that we live on forever. I knew, with my whole being, that when we died part of us, the part that makes us individuals/souls, lived on.
