It was 6:00 a.m. on a sunny, Florida morning, and I was on my way to work. I came to a busy intersection and stopped for the red light. To my left was a school bus about to make a left turn. To my right was the freeway entrance. I waited for the green light and started to continue straight, when all the sudden somebody screamed "STOP" from the back seat. I slammed on my brakes, just avoiding (by inches) the semi truck that ran the red light. I couldn't see the truck because of the school bus to my left. I looked in my back seat to see who was there and, of course, it was empty.

About 6 months later I took my car into the shop to have the oil changed. On my way home, I started to hear a noise from the front of my car. I was traveling about 75 mph in the fast lane and slowed to hear the noise better. It was sort of a clunk-clunk-clunk noise. I figured I would continue home and have my husband determine the source, when - again - from the back seat I heard, "GET OFF NOW!” Well, after the first incident you bet I obeyed. I went to a 7-11 store and walked around the car. I saw nothing. I went to a pay phone and called my husband. He said I should take the side roads home and drive slowly. I hung up and started walking back to my car when an extremely loud BANG came from my parked car. It scared the wits out of some people who were walking by the car at the time. I ran over and my left front tire had blown out while it was parked. Had I not obeyed my back seat guardian voice, I wouldn't be here.
