Jack in the Box?

This happened when I was about 5 years old. I had a friend playing with me in my room. We dared each other to lock ourselves into a very small cupboard near the ceiling. We both climbed in and shut the doors. It was almost black inside with little space to move about. After a few minutes my friend called out something like Hey whats that behind you? I though he was joking with me but then I think I heard a grunting sound behind me. I turned my head to see a dark irregular shape forming with two big eyes, they may have been red or white I cant remember as it was about 40 years ago. We flew out of that cupboard so fast! Nothing else happened thankfully, I have no idea what that thing was. Perhaps it was using our energies to manifest itself and the wooden cupboard held the energy in.
