I was in the best of health when the terrible headache began without any warning. In just a very few minutes I felt myself crash to the floor, and I really did not expect to awaken again in this world. I was very close to being correct.

I was discovered soon after by a relative, and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where at first they had no idea what was wrong with me. I was in like a coma, for several weeks and it was weeks until I had any memory of anything. They discovered that I had a cerebral bleed, caused by a type of inherited aneurysm, and I was given an operation that lasted more than eight hours. Afterwards my wife was told by the doctor that I would die, or be brain dead, but she would not authorize them to unplug me, but she organized people to pray for me. Whole churches of all types of Christians were asked to pray for me.

In time, I gradually came back, although it was years before I was anything like I used to be. The doctors never told us that I had died and had been reclaimed, but I always had this feeling that something like that had happened to me. You see I was changed, and when I came back, I prayed for those who were very ill, or who were dying. It was my passion to do so, and I saw people helped and healed. When this happened, it brought me so much joy because I knew how it was to be close to death.

I read about people who had suffered a near death experience, and I felt like I had also, although the memory was not there. I talked to a hypnotist, to help me remember, but fear kept me from trying. I was not afraid of the pain, but of those feelings of utter hopelessness.

Recently I went with my wife to tour a cavern deep under the hills, and it finally helped me to remember. The elevator brought us down a couple hundred feet, and it was like being dead under the earth. We got on a small flat boat, and the guide brought us down the small underground stream towards a destination that we could see somewhat and also hear. We were told that it was a small underground waterfall and that it was not open all the way to it, but we could hear it, and see the lights way up ahead where it was located.

This was my "tunnel" and I wanted so bad to be able to arrive at the waterfall and see the light there, and I knew it was a great joy. But the guide said that we could not go all the way yet, but perhaps later it would be open for us all the way. It was sad to have to come back, but there were things yet to be done here.

In time when my work is done, there will be the time to experience the joy of God's reward, at the waterfall! It is my hope that all of you reading this may also get to see and hear the waterfall, to see Heaven.
