How to start? a bit of background i suppose, okay, well my family is mixed both in heritage and step and half and foster children, this story pertains mostly to myself and my younger step sister.

I am as of this telling, 31 years old. at the time i was in high school, although at the time i was really supposed to be only in junior high, but due to the small size of our town the ninth graders had been moved up to the new high school so as to meet the minimum student requirements.

anyhow my younger sister and i still caught the same bus at the same time and were sent to bed at the same time, around eight or eight thirty p.m. we both fell asleep quickly and slept deeply at this time. we were living with our family which at the time consisted of ourselves, our mother and father, our younger sister, and occasionally our older brother when he decided to stay the night. the home we lived in could be considered a "shotgun shack". this means that there were two main rooms, the living room and kitchen which were open to one another from the from door to the back and to the right of the front door was another door that led into our bedrooms and a small bathroom with a "hall" of perhaps six foot in length as our bedroom doors were side by side and the bathroom was directly next to my door.

the first thing i recall about this was hearing my bedroom door open which was unmistakable because it was very tightly fitted and always squealed when opened. i turned over in bed to face the door just as it was opened and the light in my room came on and a voice call my name and said it was time to get up for school. naturally i covered my head and was ready to argue, until my sisters door was also pulled open, her light flicked on and the same voice called her by name and told here the same thing. we both got out of bed and went into the bathroom and began our morning rituals (brushing teeth, hair and whatnot) i grabbed my watch and put it on my wrist and in doing so i realized that it read eleven thirty. confused, thinking my watch battery had died or it had gotten broken i asked my sister what hers said and she too said it was eleven thirty. feeling very confused and thinking perhaps our brother had shown up and was playing a joke on us ( as was wont) we pulled the hall door (which had been securely closed and also made quite a racket when opened) and went to talk to our parents who were stunned we were both up and getting ready for school. we asked them who had woken us up and what time it was. they looked at one another and and said that no one had been in the house since we had gone to bed and our brother was not there either. feeling more than confused we went back to our beds and fell back to sleep until the next morning when i was truly time for school.

thinking that perhaps i had dreamt the whole thing i began telling my sister about this and she was just as shocked as i when she said she had the same experience had also thought it a dream. to this day we have no idea if this was a strange shared dream or if it truly happened. our parents can only tell us that we asked them if anyone had woken us up then had gone back to bed.
