The Angel of Death for Me

In January 2001 I was in my hospital room trying to recover. From what, I do not wish to go into, however, I want to tell my true story. I had been very ill and was in the ICU for days. I was finally moved to my own regular room after I made progress of health and although that was good, I was depressed.

Anyway...for days I would see a man pass by my room. (My door was always left open, never closed as the nurses told me they wanted to have access to me immediately if was necessary due to my condition.) The man who passed by my room each day was Caucasian, brown hair, thin, maybe about 5'10" or 5'11" and wore a suit. I don't remember the color of his clothes. I'd guess that his age was somewhere around mid 30's to late 30's.

My health improved and the first day that my hospital room door was closed, I had been watching TV when a commercial came on. I immediately thought how happy I was to be alive. That I didn't want to die and I was saying thanks to God for another chance at life. I was actually smiling while I thought it and at that EXACT moment, my closed door opened.

The man I would see walk by me daily had come into my room. He shut the door behind him and neither of us spoke at first. We just looked at each other. I instantly knew who he was but I was not afraid. He was the Angel of Death. I saw it in him but I can't explain it how I'd like to.

So anyway, after a few moments, he said "I think I'm in the wrong room." I said "Yeah, I think you are too." ...and he turned and left and I thanked God for letting me be alive.

The ironic part is that the whole time I saw him pass my room...I was wondering which person on my hospital floor had such a loyal friend or family member coming to visit them each day. Little did I know who he was until my almost fateful day.
