Hawaiian Cemetary Revealed
From: Lauren (CoolChicken007@aol.com) Story type: Ghost Location: Kauai, in my family's condo Source: Form Submission
I have a family owned condo in Kauai that I visit frequently. About five years ago, I visited the condo with my mother, Helen, my younger brother, Tom, and my aunt, Jean. The night we arrived at the condo, Helen decided to check out the "ancient Hawaiian burial grounds". I have heard that it is haunted up there, so at first I was reluctant to go. But, Jean convinced me with her persuasive words.
At about 8:30, we hiked up to the hill where the "ancient burial ground" stood. There was a nice view of the burial ground from our condo, and it sure wasn't a pretty sight. It looked even worse when we arrived there. These hideous trees that looked like tall, spiny monsters seemedto border the burial ground. Everwhere there lay pieces of what seemed to be a facy hotel, such as a piece of the beautiful door and pieces of ripped furniture.
The native Hawaiians say that they once tried to build a nice hotel on that very spot, but. when they were building it, weird things started happening. Three workers were killed in different mysterious ways. One worker was hit by a bulldozer, another fell into a large pit of fast-drying cement. When the hotel was finally finished, everything went wrong. The electricity didn't work, things were misplaced and sometimes never found.
Then one day, a hurricane hit the hotel and destroyed it. The natives say that the hotel had a bad luck curse on it because the hotel was built on top of an ancient burial ground of Hawaiians who never got a proper burial. All the beautiful wrecked pieces of very expensive thigs were lying like a broken toy on the ground. The Hawaiians say that thieves never steal from there because of bad karma. They say that if you steal something from that area, you would have horrible bad luck for the rest of your life.
Back to my story, we saw the destroyed pieces of the once glorious hotel everywhere. There was a lot of ferns growing in the burial ground. Jean is physhic and told the angry and restless spirits that we meant no harm to them, and we were not going to steal anything. Suddenly, one of the ferns started to blow in a sweeping motion and as if trying to say to us,"Leave now!" Also, there was no breeze at the time, and only one fern out of the whole bush started swaying. And, no, it wasn't an animal, either, because Helen checked to see. So, we left in a hurry and never returned to that burial ground again. Another time, Jean said she saw an ancient Hawaiian soldier standing right outside the window. He was a ghost, and he was very transparent. Jean sensed that he meant no harm and he smiled and suddenly dissappeared before her very eyes! I sware to God that these stories are true. I have a lot more to come...
