NDE-My Light was also Bright

I have decided to submit my true story only after reading the story titled "NDE-The Light was Bright" posted in the January-June 2002 section. I find it amazing that the details described by the author of her near death experience so closely resemble what I once experienced in August of 1996. Strangely for me, my experience did not involve any type of illness or injury. I was simply taking an afternoon nap and I had what I thought was the strangest "dream" that I had ever had.
To begin, my grandmother had passed away just a few months prior. According to my family, I had always been her favorite grandson because of the simple fact that I reminded her alot of my grandfather.
It was approximately 6p.m. when I layed on my bed to rest and fell asleep. As I slept, I began to dream. I suddenly saw my grandmother standing over what looked very much like a balcony overlooking an eternal darkness all around like a dark cave with a bottomless pit. She was leaning on a railing on this "balcony" and she looked very young and healthy. I got a very warm and calming feeling as I decided to approach her and gave her a warm, tight hug as I called her name. I was glad to see her and I knew that I would be safe in her arms. Nothing could hurt me at that moment! I suddenly felt her grip on me get tighter. I did not mind.
Suddenly, a tunnel of very bright lights appeared and beutiful bluegreen rays of light came out shooting out of this tunnel in all directions. She continued her firm grip on me and we began to move towards the lights (tunnel). The closer we got, the brighter the lights got, although not blinding, and the entrance to the tunnel became wider and bigger. I remember being able to look down on my own body lying on my bed and seeing myself asleep. This is what led me to believe that if I continued down this tunnel, that I would not return and simply die.
I then began to struggle to free myself from my grandmother's arms and simply told her,"I'm not ready to go yet!" She then released me and I began to move away from the lights and struggled to wake myself up. I managed to do so and everything appeared normal in my room. I was a little afraid and confused for alot of questions ran through my mind. I simply told myself that my grandmother loves me and misses me and just wanted to see me. I lover and miss her too!
To the author of "NDE-The Light was Bright." You stated that you did not recall at what point in your experience you saw this "bottomless pit or great black huge hole?" Could it be that it was before the bright lights like it was in my experience? Could this be the same bottomless pit and eternally dark space that my grandmother and I stood on the edge of, although we were standing on a balcony protected by a simple railing? What do you think?
