I wrote back in July about how my parents helped us with our new home. Both are gone , they left us just a year from each other and were married for 34 years. We miss them so. My mother Sharon Lee Segura was one of the strongest people I knew., who would not be, four boys, an abusive husband, two jobs. She was beautiful. My mother loved her grandkids and would do anything for them, as she did with us.

When she left us on 12/12/99 without us knowing she left her granddaughters a little something that had meant something special to the both of them. My daughters was a turquoise cross that she had always told her grandma that she thought was wonderful. Two days after my mother left us my father called all the granddaughters to him one by one and gave them what Mother had left them. My girl was so happy she would not let that cross from her hand. About 3 hrs later still with the gift in her hand, it somehow fell from her hand into the love seats between the cushions. My wife and Lee(my daughter) looked for hours ,days but nothing.

My daughter cried for weeks.Fast forward to today 12/12/02. My girl is now going to be 13, and has not forgotten that cross.Today my wife said wouldnt it be great if we could get Lee something really great for her 13th birthday, than it dawned on her that we still have that old love seat in the garage. We both looked at each other,we both knew somehow we to go and just to see if maybe we might get lucky, so armed with a knife and scissors we went out in temps that reached a cool 12 degrees in the garage but somehow not at the least bit cold (My wife had shorts on, getting ready for bed and all, 12:30pm)We took to that poor love seat like two surgeons we worked in silence with big eyes and hoping mother would help us somehow this would mean so much to Lee. My wife (By the way her name is Elaine, not My wife) Elaine and I stood back and looked at our work , but with no luck on finding the cross. I looked at Elaine tears were forming, a voice told me to lift the seats so I did, we heard stuff moving Elaine started searching immediately We both knew when she found it ( It could have been the yell of victory that Elaine let out) Thanks Mom its going to a great birthday. By the way incase you did not notice we found this gift on the same day my Mother left us. Thanks for letting me share God Bless.
