Channeling stories

Channelings include communications from saints, people who have died, and spirit guides. Frequently, the communications are considered teachings passed down through a medium from a spiritually higher being. An ancient practice, channeling is simply another method by which people not only try to expand their understanding of the world around them, but also attempt to ascertain what awaits in the afterlife.

Using a ouija board (weegie and quija are common spelling variants of ouija) is one of the more popular methods of channeling. A ouija board or spirit board, has letters and numbers arranged on it that are used to spell out answers to questions asked by the participants. Users place their fingertips lightly on the planchette or pointing device, ask a question, and the planchette slides across the surface pointing to letters and numbers to spell out a message. Other popular methods used to communicate with spirits include tarot cards, crystal balls, or having a seance.
