The Angel in the White Mercedes

A friend of mine, a long time ago in the time of Russia's communist reign, smuggled Bibles into the country, as they were illegal.

She was driving a large van, in which the Bibles were concealed. It was the dead of night in a stormy Russian winter. She had been driving for hours on mountainside roads that were twisty and turny.

She was tired. She kept nodding off, but she didn't, because of a white car that drove in front of her kept slowing her down every time she felt her eyelids droop.

Now, this was a solitary road, nothing for miles around, the road was muddy but the car was pristine.

She believes that it was an angel driving the car that stopped her careering into the ravine and dying, hence spreading the good word of the lord and saving their souls.
