My mother and I were best friends. She died in Oct 24, 98 of cancer. One year later I received a letter from the Washington Hosp to attend her memorial. I had to work 12 hours of night turn the day before the memorial and knew I would be too exhausted to make it. The next thing I knew the phone was ringing, I jumped out of bed and looked at the clock, it was 20 minutes after 6pm, late I AM, I should have left for work at 6pm. I raced toward the phone and my mothers picture fell from the refrig at the bottom of my feet as I answered the phone. "Hello," "Pat, we closed the 5th floor just for you!" "You do not have to come to work tonight, you are off." "Oh thank you so much," I said as I looked between my feet and viewed my Mother's picture. I was able to make it to her memorial, after her working there 19 years! I Love You Mom!
