I had a friend who was killed in a car accident on January 19, 1994. We used to work together and in the winter, we would go running late at night when it was snowing. I went to his funeral and at his service, some of his roommates played songs by James Taylor, namely "Fire & Rain" Several months later, I was running a marathon in Duluth, Minnesota. I was at mile 23 and I was dead tired, I figured that I could walk the last 3 miles but I really wanted to finish it running. They have bands at mile intervals, the last few miles of the race and at the exact moment that I felt like quitting, I ran by a band who was playing "Fire & Rain" by James Taylor. I know that my friend was there that day to help me finish the run.
