True Blessing

A true story. It was 2years ago on Christmas eve, my husband had a surprise Christmas present for our two children. At 3:00am on Christmas eve we arose to open presents. Everyone was sleepy and my children did not know why we were opening gifts so early, yet they were delighted to do so. Well my son (age 7) opens an envelope with he and his sister's name on it. This envelope contained pictures of Disney World. My son asked: Daddy what is this? Dad replied, this is one of your Christmas presents, we're going to Disney World. Well of course, the children were very excited smiling and screaming with joy. They ran to get dress because we had a 7:am flight.

Well on this night we had received so much snow, the snow had began to fall just before 12am and continue non-stop. We were not sure if we could make this trip because the roads had not been plowed and the snow was still falling. So we began by leaving early and driving very carefully. We felt we would arrive at the airport in plenty of time for departure. Well about an hour into driving we were driving north on a road that had a total of 4 lanes; 2 car lanes divided by a rail, north and south in the state of New Jersey. As we were well into an hour of driving the children had fallen asleep. We were driving on this particular road headed northbound no more than 10 minutes when suddenly our car looses control and begin to spin. The car did a full 360 and then an opposing 180. As my husband frantically tried to gain control; I looked to the right to see our car was spinning so close to the rail, at that moment, all I was thinking, Dear Jesus please don't let us crash into this rail. The car narrowly misses the rail the first time, then as it spins 90 degrees turning the opposite direction we narrowly miss the rail again. Then as the car begins to slow down, BAM we hit the rail with such force the children awake screaming and crying. Finally the car stops. Though the car had stopped, it was now facing south on a northbound lane. Meaning it was facing the on coming traffic which was headed towards us about 1/2 mile away. There was just enough distance for my husband to turn on the emergency blinkers and gently navigate our car around to go north on this northbound lane. We were all so very shook-up yet very blessed. During this fearful moment, all I remember saying was Jesus' name repeatedly, Jesus, Jesus. Jesus.

We fianlly arrived safely at the airport shaken up yet free of injury. Our vehicle had only a smashed in trunk which made it differcult for my husband to get the luggage out. Our rear lights were not damaged at all, this to was a blessing fore we still had about another 1/2 hour of driving left to do.

I believe there was something riding along with us. Something beyond our vision; angels, guides, some heavenly intervention stopped that car in the nick of time.

This was a true miracle that will always be remembered. I thank God frequently for that particular blessing and the many more since that he has bestowed upon myself and family. It's a true blessing and miracle to full handedly experience such an horrific event that could have turned out so very different. I believe since then, my favorite lyrics to sing or humn are: I believe in Miracles.
