Brians Gift to Me

This event took place about a year and a half ago. I was sitting in my work van behind a warehouse waiting to pick up some materials. About 5mos. prior to this my girlfriend had left me and did some very underhanded things in the process which i'll not discuss as they are irrelevant to this story. Suffice it to say that i was very angry with her and was consumed with anger to the point it was making me nearly insane.

My brain raced from one revenge plot to another. My friend Brian ,with whom i was very close had lost a battle with cancer at about the same time i was splitting with my girlfriend. His input and support during that time would have been a great help but he died just when i needed him most. His sister gave me a ring that he always wore and i still wear it to this day. Well there i am sitting in the van turning the ring on my finger and i asked out loud "Brian, when will she get whats comming to her?"

All of a sudden this thought entered my head" She already has hers shes living with him". I was sure it was my friend telling me this, and it literally felt like someone lifted a huge weight off my shoulders and i knew he was right. Well what he said was true because i hear from mutual friends that shes stuck in a marriage devoid of happiness. Thank you my friend for being there for me you may have saved my life.
