A Man Disappeared

I was in school i.e in 12th class in the year 1996 or 1997. During summer vacations, I, with my friends used to go for a morning walk in a ridge which is situated at a distance of 100 meters from my school. I, with my two friends "Atul" and "Rahul" was returning from that ridge then an old man nearly 55-60 years of age, asked us that whether there was any bus-route to a place called "PatPar Ganj". We told him to come with us as we are going to the nearest bus-stop from where he could get the bus. He was walking on my side i.e on my right and we all three friends were talking to each other. Then i turned my face to my left to view something (i don't remember at which object i was looking on) but when i turned back to my right the man was not there, he was disappeared. And there was no crossing on the road. Who was that man? we never come to know.
