Ack. It's April 11, 1997 (Barely.) I've been reading all the stories about the Ouija here and I thought *my* experience was freaky! I know now that mine wouldn't stand up at all in comparison to the ones I've read, but I'm compelled to share my one and only Ouija story anyway.

First let me give you a scenario. My boyfriend's roomate used to play with Quija boards when she was in college (yes my boyfriend lives with a girl..)... She told of a story that she says truly happened to her (I'll go on and tell you my experience in a minute). She says that one night (about the 3rd night she and her college buddies had played with the board) they were playng with the board, and the same spirit that they had always talked to came as usual. Instead of asking simple questions to it (i'll refer to the spirit as "B" because that's what it calls itself) they began to ask it many questions about its life because they were curious. She says that B refused to talk much about his/her life, and would "get mad" and spell out nothings (random letters). When asked why it wouldn't talk about itself, B replied that it couldn't. So instead of asking further questions, Carol (my boyfriend's roomate) then asked for sign of B's spiritual existence. BIIIIG mistake. The lamp went out, the candle the broke into 6 pieces, the blinds went up and down.... and carol says that B entered her friend's body for a few minutes and that her friend went crazy. She said that her friend raved and ranted, screaming obscenities and running around. NOTE: This is what Carol told me, and I didn't believe it either..... when she first told me.

Well, after that, the girls threw the board away.... 2 years later: the night I was at my boyfriend's house. (this was about 2 months ago).... I noticed a handmade Ouija board. Carol said not to mess with it because she was afraid that something weird would happen (ok, so don't ask me why she had it in the house to begin with)... My boyfriend said we should use it and see what would happen. I agreed. So Carol said we would play once. First Carol and I used the board... nothing much... then Scott and I used the board... when asked if a spirit was there, it replied, "Yes." When asked its name, nothing happened. It just stopped. So I figured there was nothing to it, and we put the board away. . . . Carol went to bed about an hour or so later, when my boyfriend said we should try the board again. Curious I agreed. We sat down in the living room floor. The TV was on with the volume all the way down. The only light other than the TV was the lamp in the corner of the room. We began to play. We contacted a spirit or whatever. We asked it its name. After a long-waited reply, the pointer moved over the letter "B" and stopped. Scott and I both had previously decided not to ask for a sign because of what Carol had said. B didn't do much at first, making the pointer spin around and around as if confused. Scott then looked at me with a little boyish face and said we should ask for sign! I said, "No!!!" But I think B took it as a yes............. The TV went off. All on its own. The remote control was on the other side of the room, and it didn't work anyway. The TV was behind my head .. there was no way that could have happened. There were no electrical storms or power surges. I got afraid and jumped up and my heart was pounding. Scott had a look of terror in his eyes. He said we should tell the spirit goodbye, and to do that we had to use the board. So reluctantly, I turned the TV back on as a comfort, and sat back down. B was still there. It was immediate. We made sure it was B by asking for a name. Yup... it was B (or at least it said it was). So we moved the pointer to "Goodbye" and took our hand off the board. . . . . . The TV went off again. Once again, on its own. I could have said the frst time was coincidence, but 2 times? I was in shock. Scott looked confused. But he did say we wouldn't mess with the board anymore....

The next day I went home and Scott and I weren't even going to bring up the Ouija incident when mom said, "Oh if you guys want to watch TV, you have to plug it in." I asked her why she had unplugged it, and she said, "Well, last night b4 I went to bed, it wouldn't turn off. I tried the remote and the monitor but it wouldn't go off. The only way it would turn off was to unplug it. Must have been some quirk." Scott and I looked at each other and we simultaneously asked, "What time was it?" Mom said it had been around 1:00am....... The same time Scott and I had been playing with the board..... Weird but true story. I must say here though that I do NOT in ANY way believe that Ouija is EVIL. When I look back on it, I feel we had conjured up a playful spirit who may not have been "B" at all. Since the experience I have read up on Ouija and I know a LOT more now than I did. I wish I had had the knowledge back then. Thanx, once again, for letting me share! ~Jen email - midigal@hotmail.com
