A Learning Experience
From: Anonymous Story type: Ghost Location: Freshman Dormitory Source: Form Submission
These events occurred in my freshman year at college. I have always believed in spirits, ghosts, and such things paranormal, but my friend never really thought it to be true. Maybe that is why the ghost centered on her. My roommate and I had been living in the female freshman dorms for a couple of months when we first became aware of the spiritual occurrences. One evening, Mich. and I had been in our room for a few hours. We had classes the next day, so we were studying-- when it first happened. I had decided to take a shower and had gotten all of the things I needed into the bathroom. Forgetting my towel, I turned back into the room and saw Mich. suddenly jump from her seat (at her desk). When I asked her what happened she told me that she had first felt a slight pressure (the approximate size of a finger tip) move up her calf--from her ankle to her knee. Then she had felt as if someone had hit her hard. Shocked, she had jumped up. Of course, there was no one there. (Besides us).
This wasn't the only time the spirit "showed" itself to my
roommate. In another instance, she had arrived from one of her classes early in the day
and had needed to go to the bathroom. But beyond the bathroom door, she heard the shower
running and saw the light beneath the door. Waiting, she figured that one of our neighbors
was in there, since she knew I was in class at the time. (note: in these dorms, there are
two per room and two rooms share an ajoining bathroom. So, four people for one bathroom.)
After an hour, and no sign that the shower was going to end, she began to knock on the
door. There was no answer. She then tried knocking on our neighbor's front door, but still
no answer. So, entering back in our room, she then began to "jimmy" the lock to
open it. As soon as she got the door open: the shower stopped, the light turned off, and a
rush of white steam rushed towards her. When she then checked our neighbor's adjoining
door, she realized that both doors had been locked from the inside, and no way to get out
but by passing her. After that the ghost, or spirit then seemed to pass on to the other
dorm rooms. In one room, the ghost crushed some fine gold rings a friend had left on her
desk. The next day finger molds could be seen where they were crushed into the gold. Items
were also flung across the rooms. This university just celebrated a 100 years, yet little
history about it's paranormal is known to us. If you got any ideas, let me know.
