Disappearing White Light

This is a story that happened to me when I was a kid, about 8 or 9 years old. I was visiting my grandmother's house for the whole summer with my mom and 2 brothers since we lived clearly across the country. In the upstairs bedrooms, there were 3, and my mom and 2 brothers were down the hall from me so not really close to where I was sleeping. 

One night, as I was going to bed as I did every night not thinking anything in particular, I saw a bright white light. It was in the shape of a person, but not distinct. The figure had big eyes and it sort of looked like the green aliens that have been hugely publicized but I am positive it wasn't an alien. This figure just took an instant to look at me and disappeared into the wall. Needless to say, I felt very creeped out. My mother believes that it was because I was tired and half asleep but I had just gotten into the room and I SWEAR I was WIDE AWAKE! 

So that's my story and I have been a big chicken of the supernatural ever since, although I can't explain why I am so drawn to the subject. A calling I guess, or a fear of the unexplained. 

If anyone knows what the figure was, please let me know.
