Figure at the Foot of the Bed

A few years ago I had a strange experience in our home. I went to bed around 11:30pm after watching an episode of "Star Trek:The Next Generation" and my husband was still up. I told him not to be long and went on to bed.

I'm not even sure what time it was but I woke up in a completely dark room - our bedroom has 1 window that a streetlight shines part way through so there is always some light. There was a figure at the foot of the bed and it either had arms folded or was holding something. I was half asleep and thought it was my husband's outline and that he was carrying folded clothes. I said his name in a questioning voice, like I was asking him "what are you doing up at this hour?" My husband answered me from his side of the bed! My next thought was if he is in the bed, who or what is at the bottom of the bed? Then the figure looked like it dropped what it was holding and broke up into little pieces and disappeared.

I could again see the window and the streetlight from outside. I turned over and went back to sleep, thinking it was an after-effect of watching Star Trek too late at night! The next morning I was telling my husband of a strange dream I'd had and he told me he saw the same thing - however he believes the figure had it's arms folded and to him it just faded away, it didn't break up into pieces. That completely freaked me out. We haven't seen this figure again.

We had recently come out of a lot of occult beliefs including witchcraft and OOB experiences and my husband believes this may have been his previous mentor following him to our house using an OOB experience. Whatever it was, I sincerely hope we don't see it again.
