I was staying with a friend at her house, and we were outside. It was a cold day and ice was all over the ground from an ice storm we had. Her house is over 100 years old at least. Well I happened to look up in the upstairs window from outside and I saw an old man all dressed up in a nice suit with a red carnation in his pocket. I told my friend to look and she saw the same thing then he just disappeared. We were pretty much freaked out but it being so cold outside we decided to go back in the house. We went in the kitchen which is down stairs to fix some soup to warm us up, and we heard foot steps coming from upstairs back and forth in a pace. No one else was in the house except my friend and I. I was getting really scared I had never experienced a ghost before. Finally it all stopped and once her parents got home we told them what happened and they didn't believe us, then her dad finally realized and piped up and said you know 31 years ago this day my dad died. The ghost ! we saw was his dad. His dad was fixing the roof on one of his barns had a heart attack and fell off it killed him instantly. The really weird thing is we had to sleep upstairs and that night a chill was in the room, and a hand pushed my hair off my forhead and pulled the blanket more on me where i wouldn't be so cold. That was a really sweet ghost, and it was her grandfather,but till this day I have not forgotten what he looks like it was so real looking. It happened two years ago. I guess he was just checking up on everyone.
