This happened at my grandmother's house when I was about 10 or 11 years old. 

Me, my sister who was 13 at the time and some cousins of mine, were sleeping on the living room floor. I don't really recall what time it was, but it had to have been the middle of the night, I woke up to the smell of cigar smoke and food smells. I thought that was pretty strange, considering everyone had gone to bed before we did. Well, I started looking around, and there was four old men playing cards and smoking pipes or cigars or something of that sort. I looked around to see if I could wake my sister up, but she was already awake, and had been for awhile, she just looked at me and we both stared. After about five minutes or so, the old men looked over towards me and my sister, and told us everything was okay and to go back to sleep. 

Well we were little and didn't think anything of it, so we went back to sleep. The next morning my sister asked my grandma who had been up playing cards the night before, she looked at her pretty strange and said there was nobody up playing cards. Well about this time me and my sister got pretty spooked, because we had definitely seen people in that kitchen. Come to find out the land my grandmother used to live on turned out was used as a cemetery at one time. So who knows, was it ghosts?
