This story was told to me by my mother about her mother. I never knew my grandparents because they died before I was born.

Back in the early 1900s times were a lot different and so were people and families. When families had trouble or hard times the rest of the family would pitch in and do what ever they could to help. Well, that is just what my grandmother did when her sister died in childbirth.

When grandma's sister died, she left a lot of little kid's to be cared for by her devastated husband. Grandma asked what she could do to help her brother-in-law. He asked Grandma if she could find room in her life to take the newborn baby, Billy. Of course my Grandmother said yes and she took the baby in.

One night, while the baby was sleeping in his crib which happened to be right beside my grandmothers bed, my grandmother woke up and when she rolled over in bed to look at Billy's crib, she saw the curtains blow in from a breeze and saw her sister standing over the crib looking down at her baby boy. Grandma's sister stood over the crib for just a short time and before Grandma really realized what she was looking at the curtains went back out the wind and so did her sister.

I asked my mother who was telling the story, if Grandma was scared, and she said that Grandma always said her sister just stopped in to see her baby boy one more time to make sure he was alright before she went off to heaven

Grandma never experienced an encounter with her sister or any other ghosts again.
