Ghost Story

If there was ever a place I knew was possessed/haunted it would have to be my 3rd home in New Jersey. I have experienced the most frightening experiences in that house. I'm glad that I'm here today to talk about them. My family and I moved into a 33 yr.old home that had previously belonged to an elderly couple. This couple had informed us that one of their relatives had passed away in the house of natural causes. I know that sounds like the beginning of a fictitious horror story, but I assure you, this is no joke.

My family experienced the usual banging of things and hearing whispers throughout the house. But over the few years we lived there we would experience strange things such as: regular spiders the size of tarantulas, squirrels in the ceiling, numerous mice, fly infestation in our attic, caterpillars everywhere, clumps of dead bees found on the carpet of my parents' bedroom. Even though these things sound more like we just needed an extremely experienced exterminator, I was always convinced these were evil occurences because of the happenings I'm about to tell you below.

One day as I was getting ready for school, I heard something like it was deliberately knocked down upstairs. Since I was the only one home, I panicked and ran out the door. Another day, I was home alone with my dog when I was pretty sure I heard several whispering voices behind my ear. I was so scared that I accidentally locked myself and my dog in the sunroom. Speaking of my dog, when I would play with him, he would stop and stare into mid air...at nothing any human eye could see.

Sometimes when I would first walk into our house it would smell of wine and cigar smoke. No one in my family drank or smoked.

While stranger things have happened to my family members, the one thing that we all shared was this one night. Actually, I lied. My sister was sleeping over my grandmother's house this night. I shared a room with my parents so I was sleeping with my mother and my father slept in my sister's room. I thought I dreamt of a woman screaming like she was being murdered and a huge door slam. The dream felt so real, it sounded like it took place right in my hallway. The next day I learned that my parents had heard the same exact thing. You must be thinking, WELL THAT COULD'VE BEEN OUTSIDE. However, I don't think so because it sounded too close. Plus, there was nothing around that house.
