Haunted Home Site

I never really believed in ghosts until my then wife and I built our first home. It started almost immediately.
The house was finished in early April 1979, I would sleep there on weekends and on the first Saturday nite that I stayed it started. I made my bed on the floor in the master bedroom since there was no furniture yet, and I was watching Saturday Nite Live. Then I heard foot steps ascending up the steps. I turned the TV volume off and listened. I counted 13 foot steps coming up the steps, there were 13 steps to the stair case. I thought my soon to be wife was coming to join me since she was the only other one who had a key. I opened the door and the hall way was dark and no one was there. This happened several more times that nite I kept the TV on all nite.
My wife and I moved into the house in early June. i had told her of the foot steps. Our first nite in the house we laid in bed at about midnight talking. Then the footsteps started, 13 ascending steps, but this time after a short pause the steps continued down the hall and stopped out side our closed bedroom door. We freaked!! The foot steps continued off and on for the next few months.
The following is an account of other activity:
Our savings pass book disappeared from it"s spot that it was always kept in. We searched everywhere, after 2 weeks we went to the bank and had a new one issued. We returned home and went to put it in it"s spot and the old one was there in plain sight.
I used to work out in the basement, my wife got home from work at 6PM 2 hours after me. We also now had a dog.
I was workin out in the basement with the dog. We both heard the front door open then shut, then foot steps going from the linoleum foyer across the carpeted hallway to the basement door at the top of the steps. The dog ran up with his tail wagging to greet someone. There was no one there. The foyer and hallway were right above me when I was in the basement the footsteps occured several more times and I could walk underneath and follow them from the foyer to the basement door. The dog ran up each time. When my wife did enter the house I or the dog could not distinguish between the "fake "footsteps and the real ones. This continued speratic for 2 months.
Our son was born in July 1981. One nite while he was upstairs asleep I heard a baby crying. I whent up to see if he was OK. He was asleep. Again the crying again he was asleep. Then I noticed the crying stopped when I started up the stairs.
Several nites later we heard the crying again. Now I was really freaked, our son was sitting in the family room with us.. Again after 1 or 2 months this stopped.
One nite we were sitting in the family room watching TV. Next to the Tv was the opening to the kitchen and past that the dining room. The dog and I were lying on the floor, suddenly a light colored round ball of "haze" approx 14" dia. flew from the hallway thru the kitchen and dissappeared in the dining room. The dog started barking hysterically and took chase. He ran so fast after it he ran into the kitchen chairs and knocked them over then just sat growling at the kitchen.
About 2 weeks later something flew from the hallway and smashed into the back door. I didn"t see it but the dog again ripped out into thr kitchen after it.
The next things to happen were in the master bedroom. My side of the bed faced the small bathroom in our room. I started waking up in the middle of the nite for no reason with an intense fear that something was in the bathroom out of sight. After about the third time, I awoke scared to death staring at the open bathroom door. A grey haze about 4 feet square came flying out of the door way and passed over me. I freaked then passed it of as a dream. Soon after that I awoke scared to death looking at the door then a huge black cloud came flying oout of the door very fast and passed thru me. I felt it. I thought I would die from fright. At this point I thought of selling, but it was the last thing that happened in the house.
NOTE: The house was new built on old farm land. I"m normal
in every respect, I don"t belong to any paranormal clubs,
I now believe in ghosts I experienced something for about
2 years in that house. My wife heard and saw and my dog chased
after balls of haze.
