Haunting

I currently lived in a home that was built around 17 years ago. This was one of three model homes in a new and isolated area. We are the only residences of this house. The builder went out of business so the remaining lots were vacant for 10 years until other builders came in. Of course this may be just shoddy workmanship, but I do not think so. I have had so many problems with this house and always made a joke that the movie "The Money Pit" must be about my home or it was built on an Indian reservation. 

This is the deal. There have been times when I could hear people walking upstairs, and no one was there. I have heard cabinet doors open and close and the house is always strangely dusty. My grown son and youngest child refuse to sleep in a certain bedroom because they feel something is in there. I have always slept with my bedroom door locked until recently and always required a light on the house at all times. I have started sensing danger for my children whose bedrooms are upstairs so I sleep with my door open now. I am very depressed in this home and have not moved because of children's school. I have 1 1/2 years left.

Within a 24 hour period several weeks ago two strangers told me two weird things about my home. One lady said when the house was being built that it fell completely to the ground, Second a jogger told my daughter that this land was a graveyard a very long time ago. I called the city and they said that wasn't true, but he was new and wasn't 100% sure. I have a very strange feeling about this place.
