This is an experience that happened to my mother and I while housesitting at my grandparents house. It was about ten at night and we were watching TV. I suddenly smelled men's cologn (Polo). The smell seemed to move past me then stop next to my chair. I looked at my mother and found her looking at me. She asked if I smelled it and I said yes. It was sitting next to me. It went away after about 15 minutes. This happened several times to me. We joked that there was a ghost there and I named it Iain, though I told no one.

About a year later, we found a first edition Ouija board at an antique store. We bought it a brought it to my grandparents house. My brother and I decided to try it out. My brother had his hands on the planchette, but mine were hovering above it. He asked if anyone was there. It said yes. He asked its name and it spelled out something my brother tried to pronounce, but was told no. I then asked if anyone was there. It said yes. I asked its name, still not touching it. It spelled out I-A-I-N. I sat back and my brother asked what the matter was. I explained about Iain. My brother has not touched it since.

I did tell a cousin about it and she decided we should try. We again contacted Iain, but also a Viking named Rollo. After asking it questions about who they were and such, my cousin asked what Iain wanted. He responded "Guardian." When asked for who, he spelled out my name.

I have had several incidents occur to make me believe I do have a guardian. Whether it is Iain I do not know for sure, but I believe he is one.
