The following story is something that still gives me chills when I talk about it. About 10 yrs ago I was living in a small town in Texas. We lived in a set of duplexes where some of his family lived and my boyfriend worked with his sister.

One morning I was to babysit their little boy (I'll call him Joey) who was about 3 yrs old. It was still dark when everyone else left for work and I settled down on the couch to take a nap before the Joey woke up for the day. I had slept for maybe 30 minutes when I heard the singing. That is what woke me up. Joey was singing a little song in one of the back bedrooms.

When I called to him to come in the living room and sit with me, I still had my eyes closed. The couch faced the front door and away from the kitchen and hallway. When the singing got about halfway down the hall, I realized that it couldn't be him because his mother taken him with her that day and he wasn't in the house.

I literally couldn't move. All I could do was say in my head, "Please don't come and sit beside me!" I could hear the little footsteps coming down the hall getting closer, then they passed right behind me and turned into the kitchen. I could hear very distinctly the slap of the bare feet as they hit the linoleum. It was very vivid. I was scared out of my wits and freaking out.

Then they and the song just stopped in front of the sink. My hair was standing on end and I was trembling a bit as I opened my eyes. I got up and looked in the kitchen and saw nothing. I turned on every light in the house and, despite it being mid-summer in Texas, opened the front door and the windows so I could see out.

I spent the rest of the day with the door open, tv on full blast sitting very close to the door. When they all got home that evening, I told only my boyfriend, and he insisted that I had been dreaming as I have always had very vivid dreams. But it was the singing that woke me up.

By the way, this isn't the only time his family has had weird occurences happen. I wonder if it was something that had followed them there and was just saying hi.
