Man on the Wall
From: Anonymous Story type: Ghost Location: My childhood home Source: Form Submission
Our house was built in the early part of this century, 1920-1930. I know almost nothing about any of the previous inhabitants save that the family before mine had been a large one.
I couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 when I saw the ghost. I
awoke late at night needing to go to the bathroom. As I looked
towards the door to my room, which was strangely shut I saw a man.
He looked like a lightly colored in line drawing, 3D, but softer.
He was floating/standing on the same level as the molding which
ran around the walls, about 6 inches off the floor. He seemed to
be having a conversation with someone that I could not see. I was
terribly frightened, what was I going to do? I had to go to the
bathroom! As I sat staring at him he turned and looked at me.
I nearly died! I knew, with childlike certainty, that if I walked
by him he would "get" me. Finally, after what seemed like an
eternity, he looked away. I closed my eyes, and walked towards
the door, opened it, and felt my way to the bathroom. Once I was
safely in the bathroom I opened my eyes. When I went back to my
room he was gone. I never _saw_ him again, but many times late
at night I would awake from strange nightmares with the feeling
that I wasn't alone.
