Moving Stars

I had a similar experience to Vicki Whitehead's
"Eradicated Stars" story. I grew up in a small town
near the Wind River Range in Wyoming. During the summer months,
my brother and I and our friends would pitch a tent outside our
house on the lawn and sleep out almost every night. Armed with a
bag of Chip's Ahoy and a book on constellations, we would stare
at the sky for hours. It got to the point where we could
differentiate between satellites, falling stars and comets, jets,
and other things. We called the other things we saw "Moving
Stars". Unlike satellites and falling stars, these would
travel forward, backward, zigzag around, stop for a while, and
then warp out of sight at maximum speed like something out of
Star Trek. We saw a lot of the "Moving Stars" every
night that we slept out. By the way, a lot of people I knew in
this same town, saw a lot of other strange things in the sky and
a cattle mutilation happened on a nearby ranch in the 1970's.
