I'm not sure whether this story falls in the ghost or angel category. Just for the record, this isn't a "story". This really happened, and not a day passes that I don't think about this.

In May, 1994, my friends Dad claimed he saw a ghost. Dawn (my friend) and I thought he was pulling our leg and just trying to scare us. He began telling everyone else about the ghost, including his wife, his mother and his friends. His extremely vibrant, fun-loving personality led everyone to believe it was a big hoax he was pulling on them too. I remember him telling us that the ghost comes to visit him quite often. He said that they had a lot in common. They shared the same first and last names, the same birthday; they both had heart problems and they both smoked cigarettes. He told us that the ghost died in 1901 by a bear attack while cutting down trees, and has been in limbo ever since. He said he felt all the pain that he felt on the day of the attack and desperately wants to find the light.

It was after his in depth explanation when I believed him. About a week later, we realized the seriousness of this situation. Dawn's Dad got a Priest to go to there house and assist him in helping the lost soul into the light. He told the rest of the family to wait in the basement until it was all over. Dawn said they heard her Dad speaking and the Priest preaching, but couldn't make out their exact words.

Out of curiosity, Dawn, her Grandma and I went to the archives to see if we could find out about the ghosts life since we had all the information we needed. It was shocking to find his information in the archives, which matched everything Dawns Dad told us. He was a logger and was killed by a Grizzly Bear while on the job. We also found out that he was the same age as Dawns Dad when he died.

When Dawn and I asked what happened to the ghost, her Dad told us that he went through the light and it was the most amazing thing he had ever seen in his life. He told us that the ghost thanked him and asked him what he could possibly do to repay him. He told the ghost how restricting his heart condition made his life, that he is always in pain and all he wanted was for the pain to stop.

Then on June 17, 1994 (two weeks after the ghost went into the light), Dawns Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep at age 41.
