My dad's mother, we called her Nana was the sweetest lady you would have ever met. Me and my mother would go and see her every weekend ever since I was a little girl.

She was about 83-84 years old when she was home by herself and had a stroke. The housekeeper found her two days later in a pool of urine, by the telephone. She was in a convalescent home for more than 2 months with her left side completely paralyzed. When she passed on, it was on my mothers birthday.

About one day after her death, my uncle and my aunt were in her old wood floored house putting things away. My uncle was in the hallway while my aunt was in my Nana's bedroom, when he felt someone walk by and touch his shoulder. He yelled: "Jackie! Did you just walk by me? That's not funny!" My aunt was on the other side of the house.

That was incident one, my incident was the night after. Mind you no one told me this until what happened to me. Every night before my Nana went to bed, she always sat in her favorite chair and watched Wheel of Fortune. The wood floors in the house creaked every time you walked in the house. I was in her favorite chair watching Wheel of Fortune when I heard the foot steps coming from her bedroom. (her chair was located was at the edge of the hallway, to where if you were coming from the room the chair was at the edge.) They kept getting closer and closer. I started to pray to myself, I was so freaked out I froze. The steps kept coming and when the steps stopped, it was at the edge of the hallway directly next to the chair I was in. I turned my head and I got goose bumps all down my left side, as if something had happened with me and my Nana. My family was in the breakfast room on the other side of the house.

I got up so fast and started running in there screaming: "Nana was here, she touched me!" I was white and freaked out, my aunt went into the front room where I was. Ironically, the steps were going back into the bedroom. My aunt said: "Nana, stop it, you are scary Cindy!" It stopped and the spook in the house went away.

The house is about 75 years old, so those steps were creaking pretty loud. I think she wanted to tell me good bye, but I am not one to visit while awake.

I still have dreams where she visits me.
