Shadow-Like Figure

When I was about 17 my cousin had a paranormal experience...sort of. He lived in an old house which had a separate room in the back of the house. He slept in this room and told me he had experienced a shadow like figure jumping on him as he slept. He told me he would try to fight it of, but he was unable to move. He would try calling for his mom, but no words would come out. I thought it was pretty creepy and refused to sleep in that same room. My uncle, who had occupied that same room about 5 years earlier experience the same thing. He said he had this same experience inside the house as well, as he slept in his brothers room.

I had totally forgotten about this story until I started attending college. I was still living at home, but I would go out and party just about every night. One night I came staggering home (after a drinking session with my buddies). I was asleep when suddenly I felt a chill and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I quickly opened my eyes and felt someone sitting on my chest trying to suffocate me. I tried to fight it, but was unable to move. I started calling for my mom, but no words came out of my mouth. The only thing I was able to see was a small, shadow like figure (like the dark/shadow demons from the movie "Ghost.") After that I started to pray and it just seemed to go away (I'm not religious by any means). I put the covers over my head and drifted back to sleep. Till this day, I don't know if it was a dream or if I actually experienced this. I told this same story to a friend, who has since passed away, and he told me he experience the same thing...pretty creepy.
