Spooky

I"ve always felt like I"ve had one foot in the paranormal and for some reason it"s comforting to read that others out there have had spooky things happen to them too. My "spook" story happened about 11 years ago, and to this day I don"t know exactly what was going on, but I"ve always had the feeling that something important happened. I woke up one night to the sensation of a heavy weight holding my body down. I figured I was just having a nightmare so I tried to scream to wake myself up. But all of a sudden I felt a hand go over my mouth. That really scared me, as I figured it was a mad rapist or someone who had broken into my house. But when I opened my eyes, there was no one there. Then I really freaked. It felt like someone was laying on top of me, trapping my legs with (his?) legs and holding my arms down at the wrists. I was able to turn my head and look around but every time I tried to scream, my mouth would be covered up again. I kept looking at the clock, and trying to reach for the phone, but kept getting restrained. Now, all the time this is happening, my mind is going a million miles an hour and I"m doing all these little things to make sure I"m not dreaming. (like biting my tounge) I kept looking at the clock and after a couple of hours of mind numbing terror, I finally just had enough and started fighting and thrashing around. Whatever it was just faded away. I have no idea what had just happened, but I have truly never been that frightened in my life. I moved out of that house shortly after. I had a couple of weird things happen in the next house, but nothing that compares to the feeling of absolute terror I felt that night.

The next house I moved into was quiet for about a year and then things started happening there too. I kept seeing things out of the corner of my eye, shapes and shadows moving around, things like that. I"d walk into my bedroom and and these black lines, like crepe paper would drop down on me. I"d duck, my heart would stop and when I"d look up, there would be nothing there. Many nights I would awaken to the sensation of having my covers being pulled down off of me in bed. I would hold on to them, half asleep and engage in a tug-o-war with whoever was pulling them from the foot of my bed. Then there would always be a big yank, I"d lose my grip on the covers and I would fully waken, and I"d lie there freaked out for the rest of the night. The final straw was the night when I woke up cold, and when I opened my eyes to try to find my quilt, I saw it hanging in the air at the foot of my bed. It looked like someone was holding it up and hiding behind it. When I screamed, it just fell across me as if someone flung it at me. I was up and out of there in seconds and shortly after that I moved. Things have been pretty quiet in this new house (except for the UFO"s!) and I"m hoping that whatever was visiting me has lost interest in me.
