I have three ghost stories actually. The first one happened back in 1984 in my old house in Peterborough. The day that my family had moved into the house everyone was in the basement playing cards and relaxing from the move and my father and uncle went upstairs to move a few of the last remaining articles into the house. Just as they were about to pass the staircase something caught their attention from the corner of their eye. They saw what looked to be a man walking up the stairs, keeping close to the wall. My father ran into the basement to check that we were all still down there. He didn't want to believe it was a ghost. After the first sighting the ghost was seen again almost every night walking from our bathroom into my bedroom. He would appear to be staring out the window and when someone approached he would turn to look at them and then vanish. We came to find out that the previous owners husband had died in that house, and when we asked her about it, she said "Oh, you've seen him too".

The next story also occurred in Peterborough at my grandmas house. She lives down the street from a cemetery and her house is fairly old. I have always been afraid of the staircase leading to her top floor because it is one of those closed in types and when you reach the third or fourth step a rush of cold air hits you. Well I slept over once 'big mistake' and my grandmother gave me a room upstairs. I was just about to climb into bed when I felt like someone was watching me. I slowly turned around and I saw a woman, dressed in a white gown standing looking to the direction of the backyard. In a matter of seconds she disappeared. I've never slept over again, never went upstairs and that room is now off limits to everyone.

Finally this one happened very recently. My cat was hit and killed by a car last July in front of our driveway. I was very upset and so I buried her in the flower bed beside my guinea pig. She loved to sleep in my room and since her death when I would walk into my room things would fall off of the dresser or I'd hear her meow or have dreams of her. This July my boyfriend slept over and I let him stay in my room as sort of an experiment. I had never told him about my cat. He was awaken in the night by the sound of a cat meowing in my room. 'We have no cats now' and the door was closed. Then he said the sound got muffled and so he eventually went back to sleep. When he got up in the morning he said his back was sore, and when I looked at it there where claw marks down his shoulder blade. Since then he hasn't slept over and everyone who has slept in my room has heard her meow, and had dreams of her. My mom even felt her get onto the end of the bed once.

Thanks for listening. Sorry that was so long. =)
