This is a true story that happened to my father. When he was a kid, the family lived in Arizona in a small house. Since they were extremely poor, the kids all slept in one bed. He said that every morning he would wind up underneath the bed by himself. He suspected one of his brothers or sisters to be the one throwing him off the bed but he never could stay awake long enough to catch them. They denied doing this to him as well.

One day he said that he became so fed up that he was determined to stay awake. So that night, he pretended to go to sleep. Nothing happened at first and he noticed all the other kids asleep. Just before he decided to finally fall asleep himself, he felt a hand grabbing his shirt from the back and pulling him to the edge of the bed. He suddenly twirled around to catch the person and he found himself holding a hand and forearm but no body! He said it was dark and old looking and that it suddenly slithered out of his grasp and disappeared. He was so scared that he jumped in the middle of the bed between his brothers and his sisters. The next day, he told his mother what happened and she confessed that she saw the hand one evening on a window ledge but didn't want to say anything.

My father often wonders why the hand only came after him.
