One night, when I was in high school, my friend Natasha had come to spend the night at my house. As usual, we stayed up pretty late and watched television before heading off to my room to go to sleep. We had gotten into a conversation about things going on at school i.e. who we liked, the new "hot" guy in class...things like that. After laying in bed talking with the lights on, I decided that I was very tired and wanted to go to sleep, or at least turn the lights off. Natasha was a very "out there" type of girl, and she LOVED to talk, so I figured if I turned the lights off, perhaps she would get tired and I could go to sleep. I had a lamp on my nightstand which was on her side of the bed, the only problem was that the bulb had burned out and I was too lazy to replace it. Natasha wanted me to leave a light on, but the switch was on the other side of the room and I knew that when either of us got tired, no one would get up to turn it off. So, I persuaded her to let me turn off the light. At this time, it was approximately 2:00am, and I shut and locked my bedroom door, pulled all the shades down and tucked them in the corners of the windows, and turned the lights off. Now, I lived in the country so there was no light coming into my room at all, only the faint red glow of the alarm clock. As we lay there talking, she was facing the nightstand, and I was facing her. She was rambling on and on about something at school, so I decided to roll over, thinking I would eventually drift off to sleep. As I rolled over, I saw dark, shapeless cloud-like masses on my ceiling. I remembered thinking that it was odd, since it was so dark...then, I saw it. On my side of the bed standing over me was a man. He wore a dark cloak with a hood and his hands we crossed in front of him. His face was ashen gray, and I could see the shadows where his eyes, nose and lips were, but I could see no distinct features. Immediately, a wave of fear rushed over me. I wrote it off to a lack of sleep hallucination,
