Timely Ghost

My parents are very sensible and un-superstitious people, so when they recounted this story to me, it surprised me and intrigued me. It's not particularly scary.
My parents have had a cabin on some land in a rural area of the Southern Tier of New York since the late 1970s. They (and my siblings when we were children) visit about every other weekend in the summertime.
My dad always turns the power off before they leave by flipping the main circuit breaker to 'off' - there is no power running to any outlet. I've been the one who flipped the breaker off a few times, and after that we always check to ensure the power is off by flipping a light switch.
One of the things they've got plugged in is an old digital clock, but it is of the mechanical variety. The numbers flip every minute, sort of like a car odometer. It only runs off AC power.
My dad stunned me one day when he said "I think we have a ghost at the cabin. The clock is always right when we arrive." On several occasions I've verified this, and sure enough it is right. I also checked to make sure it hadn't been running due to our accidentally leaving the power on.
I've tried to figure out a logical explanation: I have verified the power was not left on, we do not leave one
week and arrive the next at similar times, so it's not just
a coincidence. I don't know if it's a ghost or not, but
it's fun thinking it is!
