Unknown Creature

About 22 years ago, I was sleeping on the couch in my in-laws house. At 3 am I woke up, looked at my watch and looked around the living room. Out of the hallway, I saw a figure dressed in a long black robe, floating across the room toward me. The bottom of the robe was about 1 foot off the floor and I could see no feet. The face was thin and drawn with wild gray hair going in all directions. It floated over to the place where I was lying and bent it"s neck, which appeared to be 3 feet long into an S shape and placed it"s face near mine and smiled. I closed my eyes and jumped a little in fright. When I opened my eyes it was gone. I checked my watch and it was 3 am. I haven"t seen it since and don"t want to, even though it just smiled at me.
