Zodiac's ghost: The Phantom of Cordelia
From: Alex Breitler (brei1540@tao.sosc.osshe.edu) Story type: Ghost Location: Vallejo, CA Source: Form Submission
When the infamous Zodiac Killer stalked the dark hills of Vallejo and Benicia
in the late 1960"s, he would tailgate potential victoms in his ghostly white Chevy sedan.
Now, thirty years after the killings on Lake Herman Road, it is said that the ghost
of the now-probably-dead mass murderer haunts the lonely roads in the area, tailgating
women on moonless nights in that same Chevy. Also, it is believed that on cold, December
nights the killings are re-enacted as they occured so long ago, by the old Benicia
Pumping Station, in the gravel area just off the road. Nobody knows who the Zodiac
was, but many say they have seen that ghastly car on the roads, hunting for yet more
victoms. A stocky man is behind the wheel, glasses reflecting in oncoming headlights
like snake eyes, and he is doomed to roam the deserted backroads of Solano County for
all time, for it is on those same roads that he committed his worst attrocities. One
thing is for sure -- if you are alone in that area late at night, and you pick up a tail
-- most likely a white car -- flashing it"s highbeams at you, do not stop; it"s either
the Zodiac"s ghost, or even the Zodiac himself.
