An Energy Wasting Ghost

I moved to Myrtle Beach about two years ago. The house I'm living in is an older house. I would say about fifty years old. No one has died in the house, that I am aware of, and the elderly lady who did own the house is still alive. However, there have been a few strange things happen to me since I have lived here.

One night I was surfing the net. Looking at various ghost story pages. I had been listening to the cd player earlier that day. I had been listening to Van Halen's first album. Well I had turned the cd player off. As I'm reading ghost stories then that night, I hear this low siren like sound, and it begins getting louder. At this point I don't know what it is, and I get kinda freaked out. Then the siren sound stops, and I hear BOOM BOOM BOOM. At this time I realize what it is. It's my cd player. It had turned on by itself, and it was the beginning of Running With the Devil, by Eddie and the boys. I have webtv, and I dismissed it as the remote to my webtv crossing paths with the remote to my cd player, or some other electronic junk like that. However a couple months later I came home late one night to find the back bathroom light on, and the touch lamp in the back bedroom also on.

Now I don't use this room. However I do use that bathroom occasionally. I had used it that morning, but there was no reason for me to turn that light on, as it was a nice sunny day out. And as far as the touch lamp is concerned, it is over in the corner next to the bed, which I don't even get close too when I go to that back bathroom.

So anyway, I turned both lights off, and went to bed. I woke up about two hours later to go to the bathroom, and one of the two lights was on again. It's been a while ago, so I don't remember for sure which one. I do know without a doubt one of them was back on. So at this point I walk around the house, and tell whatever it is doing this to show itself, and nothing happened. So I attributed this to a power surge. Because I have heard that these can make the touch lamps t urn on, and the bathroom light to me just turning it on, and not realizing it.

The final thing that has happened to me here was this. I got up one morning to go to work. Went into the bathroom, and started shaving. I got done shaving, turned off the water, and had to drain the lizard, so to speak. I did this, and was going to get in the shower. I decided not to flush the toilet until after because sometimes flushing the toilet makes the shower water cold. So I got into the shower. Well after I turned the shower off, I still heard water running. I looked over, and the water faucet was turned on, I looked down and the toilet had been flushed. Not to be gross, but I could tell because the water was clear now, and not a lemonade color, if you catch my drift.

Now it is possible that I left the water running, and it is possible that I flushed the toilet. But I have never left the sink water running before, or since while taking a shower. And I distinctly remember thinking don't flush the toilet, because of the cold water thing.

None of this kind of thing ever happened to me before I moved into this house. It isn't an everyday occurrence, but in the last two years these three things have happened. It seems to be about every six to nine months. It's just weird little out of the ordinary things like this that make me think there has to be something, other than what our five senses normally perceive, out there.
