Another Haunted House on Spear's Path

I also lived in a house on Spear's Path in Foster, RI. This house was located at the end of the dirt road (approx .5mi). The house was over 250 yrs old and had a new addition added to it. It also had a dirt basement underneath the older side. The house was always cold inside, even during the heat of summer. And at times footsteps could be heard on both the new and old parts of the house.

My first encounter happened while I was doing laundry in a small area between the new and old sections of the house. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs of the new side. I thought it was just one of the roomies, then I remembered that I was the only one home. I ran to the living room area (on the older side) and waited. There was a doorway where I could see through the kitchen to the laundry area. Then the door from the laundry room started to creak open. I ran to the my room and stayed there until the roomies came home. I related my story to the owner and he told me it was just the ghost.

After that, I would most often hear the footsteps coming up the stairs to the room I occupied. The footsteps would come to the top and just stop. There were also footsteps in the woods without there ever being any animal or person causing them.

I was later told (by the owner) that the house was not far from where the Foster Asylum had been located. That is until it burnt down. I haven't lived in that house in 6yrs and it has been sold to new owners. But I think that the ghost(s) is still there.
