Asking for a Sign
From: Ashley (Ashwee9697@aol.com) Story type: Ghost Location: At home and school Source: Form Submission
My dad died back on Otober 13th of 1994. Every year when this day comes I pray to experience just one sign from my father to know he's still around and watching over me. October 13th of 2001 I did this once again but not keeping my hopes up that anything would happen. 2 days passed by and I was laying on my bed talking to my boyfriend. At first one of the lights started to flicker from my fan and then stoped. Ignoring it I kept talking until that light bulb all of a sudden went out.
Within a couple seconds in-between each other another bulb went out and my radio turned on. The station was then switched to a song that was played at my father's funeral that is my favorite song to this day. After this I had a combination lock (that was sitting on top of one of my speakers) fall off. Yes this would of been normal if I was blasting the music but the volume was 2 notches or so from being mute and I dont get very good base either. This night passed and as last time, 2 days passed. Once again I was laying in my room talking on the phone when I heard a loud crash coming from outside of my room. My mom ran out of her room screaming and asking if I was alright. While she went outside (yes it was really THAT loud) to see if she could find what it was I searched around upstairs. I finally looked into my bathroom to find tiny pieces if green glass (about the size of ear rings) laying all over the bathroom floor. I walk in further to find my bathtub half filled with more glass and one of the sliding doors for my shower missing. The door had shatterd by itself with all windows and doors shut and locked, and our whole family in their rooms trying to go to sleep.
That night I went to sleep
hoping that maybe this was the last thing that could happen, but once again..TWO days later I was sitting in 1st period typing up an email to one of my friends when I heard a loud crash. I look up to find the plastic cover that goes over the lights on the ceiling hanging by two little chains. If it werent for the
safety latches keeping it u
p there someone woulda gotten hit in the head pretty hard. Lets just say maybe I'll specify the type of signs I want from my dad next time so no one "almost" gets hurt.
