Lady? in Brown

I am not sure when it started, but I seem to remember being about 7 or 8. At many numerous times I would see a figure dressed from head to toe in a dark brown robe. Every time it appeared, I somehow knew it was a "Lady" even though it never spoke nor gave me a clear look at it's face, which was always back in the shadows of the hood. When it would appear I was never scared, just curious but time after time when attempting to get a better look at it, it would vanish. Eventually I learned to remain still when it appeared, it would remain nearby as long as I didn't try to investigate it. I told my family about this, and mostly they treated it as if I had an overactive imagination. Even though sometimes it would appear with other family members present, always vanishing as soon as I tried to tell anyone. I eventually told my grandmother, who did believe me, and was very concerned telling me to let her know each time I saw "it", My grandma wanted to know how I felt when it appeared, I told her it didn't scare me, but that I would often get goose bumps anyway. It was during this time that my Grandma told me about her Uncle who claimed to be able to see ghosts and spirits, and told my Grandma that she could too, although my Grandma said that she had never seen anything unusual. I have not seen the "Brown Lady" for 20 years, but I remember it as clearly as if it happened yesterday, maybe clearer. As I said, I was never scared when "she" would appear but, it has bothered me ever since. Sometimes when I am alone, I remember "her" and strangely enough now I do feel fear, I don't know why.
