This is a story that happened to both my sister and myself at different times. About a year ago my sister was sitting on the living room floor, playing with her toys, when all of the sudden she smiled and said, "Hi! You came back to play with me! Let's go in my room." She then stood up, acted like she grabbed someones hand and started skipping back to her room. She ran into the entertainment center and looked to her left, laughed, and said, "I ran into that. I'm silly." She then acted like she was holding someone's hand again and went to her room. We could hear her laughing and playing "with someone." The next day, my father and I asked her about this. She told us that it was her friend and that she comes to play with her. We asked her where she sleeps, to which she replied, "In the walls." I felt goosebumps all over my body. My father, of course, assumed that it was an imaginary friend.

Later that weekend, my mother was outside hanging clothes out to dry and my sister was outside playing. Erica (my sister) stopped suddenly and began to run toward our old walnut tree. My mom yelled for her to stop and Erica got upset. She was insisting that she wanted to go play with the "little girl." My mom asked what little girl and Erica said, "That little girl over there under the tree. She plays with me at night." My mom immediately grabbed Erica and ran inside.

About a week later, my sister, Stephanie, and I were babysitting Erica and my son. We decided to ask her about the little girl. We began to ask her questions and she was giving us some strange answers. We asked her if the little girl was nice, and she said yes. We asked her if the little girl came around often, and she said every night the little girl came inside, but she stays under the tree until then. Finally, Steph asked if Erica could take her outside and show her where the little girl stayed during the day. Erica said yes and they went outside and began to walk toward the tree. The got about halfway there when Erica started screaming. She practically ran my sister over on her way in the house. When she got inside and calmed down a bit, we asked her what happened. She told us that the girl got angry because we knew she was there. She said that she only likes Erica and doesn't want to play unless we leave her alone.

We asked Erica if she was afraid of the girl and Erica said only when she gets mad. We asked if she gets mad often and Erica told us that she does but she's not afraid when Tyler (my son) is there because he's not afraid.

After that she refused to talk anymore about it.

The next day, I was telling my mother about this and she turned white. She told me that when we moved into this house, I was Erica's age (2 1/2). She said that I had an imaginary friend that I used to play with and one day I came out of the bedroom crying and babbling about the little girl being mean to me. For 2 months after that, I refused to sleep in that room.

For as long as I can remember, I've been terrified of that bedroom. Even when I got older, I would have nightmares when I slept in there, so usually I slept on the couch. When I moved out, Erica got that room and her visits started. After the little girl got mad, she began waking up in the middle of the night and going into my parents room to sleep.

We're not sure where the little girl came from, or what her name is, but a neighbor told us that back in the 1970's a little girl drowned in a creek by our house. There was a dam built and she wandered down to it and fell in. She wasn't found for a few days and after she was removed, the dam was destroyed. We believe that this may be the "little girl."
