Was Someone Really There?

This is a true story that happened to me about 4-5 months ago when i was 12. It happened in my hotel-like apartment at around 1:00 am my brother was at work and my mom was out with friends. i was sitting in my brothers room on the computer with the door open to where i can see the living room. I had my dog in there he was just sitting on the floor next to my chair. Then i swear i saw a shadow or something run by my living room but i thought i was just imaging it because i tend to be very paranoid at times, so i ignored it. Then my dog got up near my room's door and started barking and then backed up. Me being extremely scared i closed my door and locked it. About 3 minutes later my front door opened i was way too afraid to go out there so i sat in my room. Then about 5 minutes later with the door being open my mom came in. I knew it wasnt her before because when she came in i heard her shoes clicking on the tile.

Now til' this day i have no idea what was there and if something was really there.
