My experience wasn't exactly NDE in the usual meaning, but somehow it belongs to the same category. In October 1980 I was 18 and in the army. This happened on a Saturday afternoon, when we had a day off duty. I was sitting on a bench with a buddy, playing Master Mind. I wish to emphasize that I was absolutely under no influence of drugs or alcohol. What happened was extremely sudden. In a fraction of a second I found myself in an entirely different dimension. I knew at once that I couldn't understand it; that my mind was just too imperfect to understand it (not unlike a mouse observing goings on at a stock market). Yet I KNEW that it was where we go after we die, that I would be there too one day. I cannot recollect any pictures, everything was much too complicated for me to grasp, but I know that there were some entities. Again, they were hugely superior to me; I was awed by their grandor. They were aware of me too. It's impossible to understand how I know that, I just knew. I also knew that I would become one of them after I die. The whole experience took perhaps a few seconds of objective time, but for me it was immense, because the passage ot time out there obviously wasn't the same as ours. I came out of it as suddenly as I had "flipped away", and my buddy said: "What's the matter, have you seen a ghost?" How right he was, in a sense! Anyway, after that, I was never again really afraid of death. I know it's not the end; I've been there.
